Irish AIB says online banking up by 25 percent

Allied Irish Banks (AIB) announces the continued growth of its Internet banking products and service based on year-on-year data which reflect the increased use of its AIB.ie online banking service, as well as a documented surge of its international payments, Mobile Top Up service and domestic money transfers.

Thus, AIB reported a 25 percent rise of the number of customer logins to its secure online banking platform in the notoriously slow month of July as compared to July 2007. The bank’s volume of international payments increased by 40 percent, its Mobile Top Up service witnessed a 20 percent rise and domestic money transfers were up by 28 percent.

AIB also pointed out that it successfully implemented the use of online statements as opposed to traditional paper ones, and estimated it would issue over 1 million e-statements in the course of the whole 2008.
